Springtime in West Virginia
March first on the farm at Minnora. We have had snow on the ground since mid-December and it has been anything but a farmer's paradise here since then. Apart from being the coldest, snowiest winter here in decades, it has also been the cloudiest. Light levels have been extraordinarily low and even the crops in these greenhouses have been in "cold storage" for nearly 75 days. We did have some sunshine today, the second time in the past 50 days. Despite the weather, we still have kale, lettuce and chard for our table.
